Good evening!
After hiring a 6 berth for 3 weeks in Greece last year and catching the bug, and many months scouring the various types available, we finally decided on a Rimor Superbrig 695tc and collected it on the 19th May.
My husband and I were so prepared by the time we collected it that we eagerly set off after school finished the next day for a weekend wild camping in Wales. (We have 2 sons 14 & 16 and 3 border collie dogs we take)
I'm pleased to report it was a complete success, I forgot to mention that when we hired hubby was the only one who drove it due to the way the guy who we hired it from restricted the insurance, but now he's currently in plaster, so it's down to me to do the driving.
I suddenly remembered when collecting it from the dealership in hull, the biggest thing I've ever driven is a large 4x4. Having just been handed the keys to my dream I wasn't going to let it worry me!
I can honestly say after 3 days in Wales last week and this weekend 4 days in Norfolk I'm now into 1100+ miles and loving every minute!
I have taken the approach of best to be safe than sorry, which is how we approached things in Greece, 2 weeks in Greece and only 1 night in a campsite. But I have parallel parked, negotiated with no space, I have tried to find the most useful learning routes possible, parking up at home is a huge challenge, our van has 15cm clearance either side of the van up a steep narrow drive of about 140mtrs in a very narrow village, it's tight and takes a few wiggles, but at least it saves on storage.
Our second weekend away this weekend to Norfolk was a good weekend too, this time we cooked everything ourselves and still wild camped. Although the constant no motorhomes or no over night sleeping signs and height restricted car parks were annoying and disappointing.
We are off down to vanbitz at the end of this week to get a growler fitted.
Looking forward to getting to know you all
