Just asked question about Thule electric step motor but a friend says it does not go right in Also it judders so do you think it is the motor and gear (1 Viewer)

Just asked about a Thule electric step But a friend as just looked and says it does not go right in also it judder
So do i need a new motor thanks

Probably just needs a clean and grease on the runners they do get bound up with dirt which causes the judder

If its the flat one that just slides out I agree with The Coops, use ordinary grease whatever you do don't use white grease that will make it worse. Dealers have a habit of using white grease which makes them stick & judder.

If after cleaning and lubricating the step mechanism , it still does not go fully in , the problem may be the step motor run time which can be set for different types of steps and is controlled either through the Sargent PSU and its control panel or an separate Sargent module (, depending on which model of PSU you have. .)
