I i need the fire fighter's on my side as i'm on fire with the dealer
It wouldn't be in your interest to name and shame the dealer, whilst all this legal stuff is ongoing, however, I'd be more than happy to go and pi@@ on them, once your ordeal is over, and has been sorted out to your satisfaction. ;)

Good luck with the process. (y)

Jock. :)

Hi

have you not spoken to Bailey Customer Service about your issue as your van is only 16 months old and they have probably one of the best CS depts of any manufacturer. My previous van was a Bailey 765 Autograph and I found them to be extremely helpful in sorting out a problem that I had in the second year ( not water ingress ) In fact it was sorted out at the factory in Bristol without question and did not go back to the supplying dealership. The only time you may have a warranty problem is with aftermarket fitting of external accessories ie solar panels, which would not be covered under their warranty. I may be wrong but I cannot see where you have stated the area the leak is in. Baileys do not usually get water ingress at the roof and side panel seams/ joints due to the construction method and sealing of the panels. Hope you get it sorted but do give them a polite call.

Some pictures of where it is coming in would be useful. If you have a wind up Fiamma roof vent it may be that you have over tightened it. If you have one of these. Wind it up slightly then down until it is just closed then give the handle 2 more turns. Any more and it stresses the frame and will let water in. This happened on mine until i read the instructions!

I had same problem, found where the leak actually came in and used duck tape until they got around to fixing it. If they drag their heels - Small Claims Court, done on line used it with success a couple of times. If nothing else it enables the recipient to focus the mind !!!!

Hymer don't. I think some, but not all, UK manufacturers still use wood in the structure of the body. Not sure who though.

Chausson still do according to the display I have just seen today.

Hi

hiya yes ive spoken with bailey, the dealer where i bought the van from didn't change the warranty over into my name plus there was a satellite dorm on the roof which the dealer took it off so im guessing because the dish was removed by them thats why baliey wont honour the warranty, im none the wiser as the dealer wont tell me why bailey rejected the warranty?

Returning after break
That looks like a very old van, not something that new, what happened up on the roof. There is a lot of silicon up there. Pleased you have got it fixed.

@Lee "Just a Water Leak"TM. Ditto. :eek:

That is a disgraceful sight. No blooming wonder you were suffering leaks.
Have you got photos of the work which repaired the leak please, ie, before and after?

Glad to hear that you are sorted now. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

My last van was over 10 years old when we sold it. It looked in better newer condition than the photos shown here.
Exactly Jez. Ours is 20 x years old, and looks nothing like that in the photos.

Whoever owned @Lee "Just a Water Leak"TM's MH previously, certainly disregarded any maintenance to the roof. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

The bloke that repaired that needs to make it his last job! What a bodge up I’d be taking that to the manufacturers and also asking for an independent advisor to take a look.that wouldn’t last long and is not good workmanship.:mad::mad:
Looks like they have just stuck silicone over old sealant without even cleaning the old off first.

Bodge job is what comes to mind. Very poor.
If this van was only 18 months old when you bought it there is obviously a history of leaks which have been badly repaired and leaked again which is what you would expect using standard silicone.
Now that the sealing has been sorted, get a guarantee from the repairer as if the silicone has been removed and decent sealer like Silkaflex used it should be IN the joints not just on top.
Good luck.
