I'm a newbie
I'm going to an awning rail for my draft skirt, what's the best stuff to clean the side of the motorhome before I stick it on.

My electric steps have been playing up, to the point it has drained my engine battery, I'm getting new steps and disconnected my steps for now, if i put it the motorhome on charge will it also charge the battery or do i need to charge that on its own

regards Martin

Can't advise on the awning, as we use a quest screen shelter, suits our needs,
As for the electric step, hardly use it, other than to make sure it's operational, I had my knee replaced, so the drop from electric step became an issue, we have a fold up set of steps which we store behind passenger seat whilst travelling, did have normal 2 step set of steps, but we're quite weighty, much prefer what we have
Good luck, just search steps for MH or caravan, then measure your drop from your van

If you buy a multimeter and test for the voltage of the leisure battery and the vehicle battery while the vehicle is unplugged from EHU and turned off you’ll have a reference point of the voltage for both batteries.

Now plug in to EHU and test the voltage of both batteries using the multimeter. If you have an increase in voltage in either you’ll know which ones are being charged. It’s a bit more complicated than that but that’s a good starting point for you. For reference a lead acid battery is 50% discharged at 12.2V and fully charged at 12.8V assuming no load and time to settle down. It is likely to be charging at 13 to 14 V depending on where it is in the change cycle if EHU is doing anything.

it should do, you will probably have a controlpanel over the door, shwing when plugged in and charging. You will also have a charger somewhere, porrbily in one of the cupboards, that may have a switch on it. This will also have some sticker or something on it showing "output voltage" indicating it is a charger.
