Since 2016, caravans before that, folding Caravan, tents before that
Great offer for someone - admin. fee sounds high but think that others have just moved dates instead.
Yes we have that as an option. But I thought it might be a cheap way for someone else to join the rally.

Latest info. about Jurassic Fields Festival :dance2::

"JURASSIC Fields 2019 Is back, bigger and better than ever before with Dreadzone, one of the best live acts on the circuit today, and English rock band Coasts reforming for an exclusive appearance at Jurassic Fields, headlining this year’s festival in Bridport this July (12th-13th).

This year’s line-up is set to be one of the best line-ups for the UK’s small festival league in 2019, with over 40 acts appearing over the two day event.

Coasts, who are reforming exclusively for Jurassic Fields, get the event off to an amazing start by headlining on Friday night. Formed in Bristol in 2011 they are most notable for achieving two UK Top 40 albums, the second of which reached the Top 20.

There will also be other big festival names gracing the bill on the Friday night with Big Top headliner Dr Meaker, currently reviewed as “The hottest Live UK Drum & Bass act right now’’, raring to go.

If that wasn’t enough, we also have festival friend, the legendary Sledge Head Aka DJ Ray Mighty, of Smith & Mighty back again.

Saturday gets even better with festival circuit heavyweights Dreadzone headlining the main stage. One of the most energetic, exciting and powerful live bands to emerge from the post-rave scene, they have steadily been releasing albums and progressively bettering, refining and perfecting their own unique and inimitable take on dub since their inception in 1993. Still going strong after 25 years in the game they have also long been and still are one of the best live bands around.

Meanwhile, headlining the Big Top are CoCo and the Butterfields, an English indie-pop band who have spent much of their time on the road, touring the UK and Europe, selling out headline shows and featuring at many major festivals and are sure to go down a storm on Saturday night.

Finally headlining the Tiny Top is Sam Green. Sam is a modern, independent Roots artist with universal appeal, and his music has served as the foundations on which he has built a strong reputation as a live act combining virtuosic musical skill with great song writing. From a live show, you can expect original music inspired by a love of Grunge, Blues, Alt-Folk and Country, presented with percussive acoustic slide guitar, as well as hypnotic rhythms created live with the use of stomp-box and loop station.

There are many other amazing acts to mention but one that stands out is Kioko, who are currently touring sell out shows with the legendary UB40. There Soulful reggae/pop sound is sure to get the crowd bouncing.

Jurassic Fields has always had more invested in Bridport than just bringing live music and the festival year on year.
Our long term objective is to ultimately provide the capital to set up a local professional music studio and rehearsal hall run by volunteers, allowing the sourcing and provision of grants to enable local musicians to further their careers."

Just to tempt anyone who might be considering this Meet will post some photos as it would be great to fill the last few places with Funsters!

Think it wins the prize for best view from a dog exercising field:

Lovely photos @Wombles, looking forward to this year's event, will we be meeting in the onsite pub on the Thursday like last year?
I did borrow them from Highlands End Facebook page :giggle: but they are as we remember it from last year. Definitely meeting up in the bar/beer garden again - we may fill up both as so many of us this time!
There is a suggested itinerary on the first post of this thread as below:

Thursday - arrivals at Highlands End from 1pm (normally 3pm but earlier time agreed (y))
7.30pm onwards meet up in the campsite bar &/or beer garden with fellow Funsters :hi: :hi:
Organise any taxi sharing if wanted?
Friday - Jurassic Fields Festival, Asker Meadow, Bridport (next to Morrisons supermarket) 6pm-11pm with possible taxi share trip back.
Saturday - Jurassic Fields Festival 11am-11pm with possible taxi share trip back.
Bridport Farmers Market in the Arts Centre Bridport.
Bridport Street Market 8am-mid afternoon.
Sunday Evening - meet earlier for a meal or from 7.30pm for a drink & chat in the campsite bar &/or beer garden.
Monday - time to say goodbye (unless you like it so much that have extended your stay!) & leave the campsite by 11am.

Anytime:
At Highlands End - swim (heated 20m indoor pool), steam & sauna, or play 9 hole golf (pre-booking advised). Have a drink, meal or coffee in Martins Bar & Restaurant (on the campsite near to the Reception), a game of pool or admire the view from the Beer Garden. Try a Dorset Breakfast or Sunday Carvery & save on washing up! They have a Doggie Menu too.
Coastal walk to Downhouse Farm Garden Cafe for a light lunch, afternoon tea or a Dorset cream tea.
Pub meal or drink at the New Inn pub (short walk) in Eype & watch the sun set from their terrace.
Coastal walk to West Bay beach & harbour & have a fresh crab sandwich or fish & chips for lunch.
Coastal or inland footpath walk to scenic Eype pebble beach (dog friendly all year) & village.
Walk down the road to Bridport town for some exploring & shopping - try Bellas for the best takeaway sandwiches, salads, coffee & cakes https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowU...90022728-Bella_s-Bridport_Dorset_England.html but leave some for us! There's a nice Waitrose & a Morrisons too in the town so ideal for treats or a few essentials.
Visit Palmers Wine & Brewery Store (near Festival) - brewery tours are 11am on weekdays.
Bridport Museum (free entry but donation welcomed) - rope & net making displays, Roman jewellery & local fossils.
Golf at Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club - great location on the coast with a sea view & a good restaurant open to non-members.
Or do your own thing! No pressure to join in.

**************** UPDATE *************

Just had an email from Highlands End confirming that there are now no more pitches suitable for motorhomes for the whole duration of the Meet as fully booked for Friday & Saturday night but some availability for Thursday night & Sunday night. The campsite may get some cancellations but if anyone wants to do the Festival https://www.jurassicfields.com/ then it looks like their basic camping is still available to book in the tickets section - don't forget to add a live-in vehicle pass for motorhomes. John @scottie is booked into Festival camping so you wouldn't be the only Funsters & if you let us know we can add you to a PM group for this Meet (as well as us posting on the forum thread) so we can all meet up & you will be welcome to join in with anything that is organised. We don't know exactly where the Festival camping is but it's near the Festival field so probably a good walk from Highlands End or a short taxi hop (around £8 each way) so still possible to join us for the Thursday & Sunday nights in Martin's Bar & sure we will all keep bumping into each other in the Festival field, at the beaches & in Bridport :hi5:

Hi Everyone :hi: - know that you won't all be going to the Festival but hope this helps if you are planning on going:
Last year we managed to all share taxis back from the Festival but with so many coming this year it isn't something that we can arrange easily once there! They do get booked up too but we had a good local company last year so have been in touch with them to see what they can do & will update further on Monday. It is walkable on roads & paths both ways but uphill on the way back to the campsite & dark at night so suggest wearing something reflective & taking a torch.
Daytime taxi rate is from £5 each way from Highlands End to Morrisons Bridport (next to the Festival field) then increasing to from £7.50 after 11pm for 4 seater but also 6 & 8 seat taxis available. When we have spoken to them again on Monday then will post the taxi company details & some other ones that locals use then suggest that Funsters book direct & then ask on here for others to join them to fill their taxi - hopefully this will work?! Of course you don't have to share taxis as it's not the most expensive trip but if you do then maybe exchange mobile numbers by PM too in case of any problems or change of plans?
We will be walking down but taking a taxi back up at 11.15pm on Friday & Saturday nights after the Festival has finished & will ask those that we shared with before first - Dizzy Izzy Ginster ? Will double check the end time with the Festival organisers too now.

Also looking into the possibility of a group Carvery meal in Martins Restaurant at Highlands End on the Sunday early evening (as well as meeting there for a drink later) as this has been a popular option for the Lymington Rally but will update here when we know more to see if enough interest for this one.
