I was wondering today, would I be able to use hab batteries to jump start main battery if it was flat ? the hab batteries are only 2m from main vehicle battery.

Wondered if it would cause any problems with EBl system ?

If it did, would disconnecting the hab battery from EBL system make it useable as jump start ?

it depends what type of battery you are using as hab batteries. some lead acid batteries labelled as leisure deep cycle are just rebadged starter batteries

As you have a Hymer I assume the hab batteries are Gel if so the answer is no.

We have ebl 101c and have used leisure batts to jump the engine battery. Did not disconnect anything , just connected leads up battery to battery. Ducato 2012/13, my leads wouldnt reach to under bonnet connector.
Wouldnt want to make a habit of it but when needed........

I have used one of these to connect the Gel leisure battery to a flat starter battery via the 12v sockets for both:

It takes about 25 minutes to put enough charge into the starter battery. And patience!

2012/2013 would probably have AGM's OK with them.

Got my mate out of a fit by just using a piece of wire to connect leisure and had batteries left it for a couple of hours disconnected before trying to start.

Our batteries were changed by previous owner to (lead acid) 2 Banner Energy Bull 110amp. I don't think we need a battery master as the EBL 99 does all that ?
