Hello all
Just put a deposit down on Carthago with an iveco chassis and whilst there got a heap of photos to look over later, when I arrived home I noticed this, not suggesting anything sinister but where did Carthago get the extra 200kg on front from ?

I wonder if they have uprated the tyres?

These are standard on 50C chassis I believe,
195/75 R 16 . Loadindex 107/105

I believe the 50C can go to 5800kg but not sure what mods it requires.

Hello Martin,
That's a possibility, one thing I didn't photograph....it does have vb full air 3c but not sure that would appear on the Carthago plate.

That would give you the update on the front axle I think.

Ahh great, mystery probably solved, looks like the VB was factory fitted then, I bet that wasn't a cheap tick on the options list.
Thanks

It's a MY2007 so not sure if newer variants have higher rating maybe.cant see anyone importing from there.

None of the option boxes are cheap ;) just check what tyre rating it has 110/108 would give you the 2100kg front axle loading.

I will check, was a 950 mile round trip to view so cant just pop round, van in Cornwall me in Northumberland. I did look at the tyres, checked for cracks, tread depth didn't ever enter my mind to check tyre rating, this Forum is not just a tool for info but you get free tuition too

Check the date code on the tyres as you may need 6 new ones anyway so you could get a better load rating set of them.
Yes will do, looking at Norway next year, hopefully setting off April March time for approx 3 months (covid permitting) so winter/snow probably.
