After much searching I have finally found the right puppy for me - yes! ::bigsmile:

She is a 13 weeks old Border Collie, vaccinated and microchipped, socialised with other dogs and a cat - and just adorable. Called Phoenix or Nix for short.

B]

Will be spending tomorrow shopping for doggy items - and collecting her on Sunday.

Fantastic news, Maz!!

I couldn't open the photos though - what a disappointment!!

Sounds like she has had a great start to life with someone who has taken alot of trouble to socialise her.

Can't wait to meet up - I'm sure that Jessie would love a game or two with Nix. Are you going to Malvern?

Anyway, have fun - it'll make such a difference to you having a companion. ::bigsmile:::bigsmile:::bigsmile:

Oh, she's beautiful!!
Phoenix is the name of one of the dog rescue centres in the Dordogne.

Hope you have lots of fun together--she looks really cute.

Pete can't see the pic on his lappy either - but I can on the PC !!!! :roflmto:

She's a little beaut Maz. Hope it's a 'marriage made in heaven' and you will be very happy together. Err, you have checked she doesn't get carsick? pete bought a (very expensive) Springer to train to the gun, all the right handles and knobs on her pedigree - and she used to throw up. Not much use having a retriever you can't take anywhere for her to retrieve anything ..... LOL

But she got cured. I'll keep that story for if you need it, which I sincerely hope you don't!

Do they have doggy seatbelts?

Congratulations on your new arrival ::bigsmile: She looks gorgeous and I am sure you will both be very happy. As co pilot, if she is on the passenger seat, dog harness attached to seat belt. Anywhere in the van, when travelling, she needs restraining. I know though that you are organised and a careful planner and will have all that under control. Watch out as well for errant rolling balls! Jane

Hi Jane. There is just the one photo - so far (and that was the one in her ad). I'll take some more once I get her home.

I'm sure she'll love to play with your Jess. I'm not going to Malvern but will be going to the Lincoln show. Are you able to get to that one?

Think I have. I've owned one in the past and did obedience and agility with him - will be doing the same with Nix. I've also read the brilliant 'Understanding Border Collies' by Barbara Sykes (twice!) - there's a lot of insight into the collie mind there.

At the moment she does get apparently get a bit car sick (well, drooly rather than physically sick) - but that was travelling to training classes in the back of a van. (Breeder told me this before I got round to asking it). I'm hoping she will find travelling in The Beastie a bit easier, as it is very light (unlike the back of a van!) and she will be crated but able to see me. All three dogs that I've had before had car sickness to some degree as puppies but grew out of it - hopefully she will be the same.

Now that I think of it she will actually be more of a back-seat driver than a co-pilot! :winky:
The passenger seat will be out of bounds because it is part of the 'furniture' and she will learn to stay at ground level. I think it would only confuse her if she was allowed on one seat but not on the others. So she will travel in her crate (which will double as her 'den') and that will be on non-slip matting and strapped behind the front seats.

So Pleased Maz, :thumb::thumb:

Were did you find her was it at Leyburn

No - I travelled to Worksop for her! Am currently parked up at the Rugby Club with 14 acres all to myself - tho' apparently I have to share it with 30 hunky men on Saturdays. ::bigsmile:

When I was in Yorkshire I started looking at dog ads in the adjoining 'central' area - and there she was. So I rang up and arranged to see her the following evening. The beauty of living in a motorhome, eh?
