We've been at home for the last few weeks awaiting a parcel that went AWOL. It was a vital bit for our motorhome in-house entertainment, a new router to team with a new antenna to give us better Internet signals.

The parcel didn't arrive, so we had the money refunded and another was ordered. The day after the replacement arrived, so did a battered box containing the original.

It's awaiting returning to Germany, but we've decided it can wait until we've had our delayed trip.

We feel that the delay may have been a good omen for us, because we would have been away in the motorhome over the last week and we may have been affected by the floods. Not least because I'd got a place called Letur in mind to visit. Letur was also hit by a big flood, with damaged roads and buildings. We feel very lucky but sad for the village.

However, we are now away. We've headed away from the coastal strip where the DANA is mainly concentrated. Our first stop is on a small motorhome area at the village of San Pedro, 35km or so west of Albacete. We've just arrived so we haven't explored yet, lunch was more important.

The motorhome area is here.

And we've had a stroll. There's a nice little park area next to us, with a small exercise machine area and a water channel!! It's also the parking for the municipal pool and padel Court. The pool's closed for the season now.

The village doesn't appear to have an old part, or we didn't find it. It's very sprawling. We found the church and ayuntamiento (town hall) and took photos of a large restaurant and outside space.

We're going to ride from here tomorrow, taking in part of the via verde that passes about 5 km from here. This area is known for saffron, as seen on one of the many murals.

Will be following avidly. 😎

We had an exceptionally quiet night last night once the last of the Padel players left at around 9 pm.

Martin had Komoot planned a 30km ride and it went very well, no wet muddy areas and only one puddle to skirt around. We rode through a lovely area which was signed as being a Wildlife Estate. There were quite a few autumnal coloured trees, not a common sight for us living in the Murcia region.

There were a couple of white buildings in a glade. Unfortunately we didn't get a good look at them through the trees.

We then popped out onto a road. Our planned route when straight across, but a sign for private, no entry, stopped us. Martin quickly replanned and, after riding a short way along the road, we came to a wide track which, lucky for us, had Don Quixote waymarks along it. This took us easily to the via verde and then the road back here.

We've lunched at the van and recharged the bikes via solar and lithium and we're spending another night here. Tomorrow morning we'll drive to Robledo

I recognise that striking restaurant, the only stand out feature in the village that we could see. We stopped at the aire but didn’t stay as a German couple were making full use of the water freely supplied but with a polite notice asking not to use for washing motorhomes. They were up on their roof with hose and brushes.
We were on our way north so travelled on and stopped at Castillo de Garcimuñoz, which I believe was a recommendation from yourselves.

We pulled in here a year or so ago. It must have only just been built, but the service point was blocked, so we continued on. We stopped yesterday on a spur of the moment decision.

You're right about the restaurant being the only striking feature here. It gets excellent reviews btw. We've been cutting down on our food intake since the summer so restaurant meals might be a course too many for our stomachs now. We might manage some nice tapas whilst we're away though.

We have stayed at the Castillo, so it may have been me that recommended it.

A pleasant second night here, so, so quiet after the sporting event had finished..
Cool morning, around the 10°c mark...but we might not make it into the twenties, it sure will be sunny and dry, which should help dry out the remaining damp patches.
We will relocate after breakfast just half an hour away and take the bikes out again for today's adventure... I'm sure Judith will fill in the blanks and provide an accurate account of the day, supported by an array of photos..👍😀

Looking forward to your thread and picking up some hints for next time. I was cutting my food intake down a bit last trip, which meant Flynn got a lot of left overs. When we returned from our trip, I’d lost 2.5kg and he’s put on 2.5kg!

That was cutting down 🤔😂. You had some pretty good meals out!

This morning we drove to the motorhome parking on the via verde at Robledo. A very nice route had been posted on Wikiloc by JudithCheckley3 🤣 and that's what we followed today. We'd forgotten just how nice it was, even better when we weren't route finding and we could just keep moving.

We're going to do another ride from here tomorrow. Maybe a newly planned one.

It's very quiet here. One Dutch van that left when we arrived 🤔😂 and now just us and a couple from catalonia.

We're here.
