Currently in Pompeii left Pescara this morning in a massive thunder and lightning storm. Decided to miss autoroute and go across country. Took the SS17 then 158 towards Naples what a fabulous drive especially if you like high mountain passes with huge drops and giddy viaducts.
Now sat out in scorching heat and have decided my love of cheese will probably kill me. Just stuffed myself stupid on this plus some grapes local bread and a bottle of Rose, oh well at least I'll die happy.

The grapes will break down all the fat in the cheese. Or at least that's what I tell myself. ;)

If you haven't yet done Herculaneum then now would be a good time. Much better than Pompeii, you could move into some of the villas, and a short train ride away.
