I found out this morning that a large proportion of automotive glass is manufactured in Ukraine, this is already impacting manufacturers. On top of the component chip issues it doesn’t seem likely that the delays and shortages of new vehicles are going to be over anytime soon.
Apparently Ford are not able to accept any new orders for new Transits.

I remember the time when this country made its own automotive safety glass . Triplex was the name if my memory serves me correct. No doubt some members will quickly point out it wasn't as good as German made glass.

Pilkington owned Triplex at one point. They were in StHelens Merseyside.
My dad worked there in the 70’s.
