bumped into this (not literally) on our last trip.
a bedford hymer!!
Bedford were Vauxhall which is GM which is Opel so why not
Makes me smile when the Astras come out of Ellesmere Port plant with Opel badges.
the CF was the last true vauxhall product before globalisation took over
Loads of them still running around in Germany. Known as the Bedford Blitz. A fitting complement to the older Hymers build quality.
glad you know the name dave . i couldnt remember it . yes see loads in the winter .
see quite a few other bedford blitz conversions as well.
horrible things . drove them for awhile . crap brakes and horrible clutch .
And sh#t gearbox! I owned to the one off the liver birds many years ago!
mind the other vehicle i had to drive was a bedford tj petrol . i had the lucky odd chance to drive it when i worked for an abbottoir delivering meat. mind it gave me the feel for later taking my class1 . did it for fun . never drove any trucks for years after i took the test.
my 1944 Bedford MW 15cwt was good fun to drive..........
