Fridge smelled of gas whilst on holiday and I presumed that the flue could be blocked as I’ve never cleaned it.
Anyway, I took the external vents off to check behind the fridge and noticed that the top vent had these two fans fitted to the inside of the vent.
Some hand fisted person has obviously pulled the vent off as the wires had been pulled out of connection as you can see. So it’s never worked during my ownership.
At some stage I’m going to pull the fridge out snd give it a clean and possible service so May see where these fans were wired to.
Just wondering if they’re a retro fit or if anyone has them as factory fit on their MH?

Previous owner has fitted them and the grill mesh

I thought you posted this last month or is my mind playing tricks?

Someone at some time has stuck these fans on to extract air to keep the fridge cold. Fridges tend not to function too well when temps hit greater than 25. Fans on the top vent fixes this issue. If you are not going to hotter climes then discard. If you are then you can buy a kit/ install 2 fans and a thermostat/ or just 2 fans and an on/ off switch. Winter task now.

I posted a photo of them last month as part of someone else making suggestions for how to keep your fridge cool.
I took the vents off whilst in France as I could smell gas outside.
Someone suggested in may be a fridge out job and not wanting to be stuck on holiday without the fridge, I thought I’d leave it until I returned home.
Now home, I’m enquiring if they’re factory or retro fit? As I’m wanting to know where the bare wires would have connected to?
By the sounds of it, it’s a retro fit so until I take the fridge out, I won’t know.
So no, you’re not losing your mind, I did post the photo last month but this month it’s a different question. 🤣
Next month I’ll be asking how to glue the vent back together after I’ve broken it 🤣🤣

From experience smelly gas from the fridge exhaust is usually a sign you are near the tailings in the cylinder and due to refill/replace soon. Smelly gas inside the van is generally the dog, or if you don't have one, the Mrs

Both gas cylinders were nearly full.
I wasn’t sure if it was the hot temperature in France that was the cause but even esrly
Morning when cooler, you could smell fumes outside.
