I'm Intermediate
Hi Everybody
If you’ve seen my last post you will be aware I’ve drained the systems down on my Autotrail Cheyenne 840D motorhome today. I’m at a loss as what to do with the seats and cushions; I’ve heard before that they will absorb the condensation or moisture in the air.

I live in a small one bedroom flat and have very little storage space so I would rather leave them in the MH if possible but don’t want mould etc to get into them and damage them, also I can’t take the double island mattress in my flat.

So what do all you MHers do when in my position or even if you are not in my position do you have a good idea of what is the best way to protect these items over the winter.
Or will they be perfectly OK in the MH?

Many Thanks Tony

Pack em in black sacks and stand bowls of cat litter in your van, more the better.
Will help at least.

We used to take everything out during the winter and stored it in a spare bedroom.

But it was a pain and especially the mattress was really heavy.

I would just use it a few days in the winter. The heat and air into the van should keep everything sweet.

My solution as well, get out and use it, or even if need be go and stay in it wherever it is in store, or just on your front if that's where it is.

Stack cushions etc on edge and if possible place some kind of lathes/batons under the mattress to lift it off its base
All you need is air circulation to keep mildew at bay.

Absorbs moisture. put outside in summer to dry off then reuse in winter.
Unless a cat has made use of it!

That's more or less what I do, plus open lockers &c/leave doors ajar (propped open if necessary) to allow air circulation.
