We're 41 now, got our first van at 29, so have been motorhoming for twelve years now. Would have be longer but took us two years to find the first van.
For a long time we felt very young but in the last couple of years a surge of late thirties / early forties have joined us.
We very much feel in the demographic now.
Didn't start out thinking life's too short but as the years (and people) pass, we are very grateful for having started so young.

Hi Brian. Have just been thinking when I bought my first motorhome, well it was a camper really. A Standard Atlas Devon conversion. It was over 40 years ago, so I would be in my 20s then. Have had a few breaks over the years but have always returned after a couple of years.

Likewise we brought our first motorhome a CI Landliner in 1971. A Fantastic vehicle for its time,
We were only 21 at the time, had lots of energy but little money!
having recently retired and now hope to enjoy the extra time that affords us with our current one,

70 on the outside - 17 on the inside. Sue is 62 and a little older/more sensible internally!

We are 45 and 51, with me having been led astray by the femine wiles of the predatory older woman. ;)

I've been looking for the predatory older woman since I was fifteen, I never found her you lucky dog!:D (Note to self.............under no circumstance should Mrs BB be allowed access to this post until this thread has gone to thread heaven):sneaky:

I bought my first campervan a J2 conversion at the age of 20 and now 51 years later at the young age of 71 we have an Autotrail Appache 700.
The age of motorhomers does seem to be older in this country than it is on the continent.

I am 53 now and Lyn and I bought our first motorhome when I was 28. We paid £14500 for a brand new Autohomes Highwayman and thought that it was the most expensive thing that we would ever buy lol
