Is La Jonquera worth a visit for duty free?

Currently in France near Spanish border.

Is it worth crossing border into La Jonquera to fill up fuel tank, LPG and purchase alcohol etc.?

Not been there but others have mentioned the place in passing.

Fuel around 10 to 15% cheaper, spirits up to 50% cheaper, food a lot cheaper.

I will check the fuel prices before I I head off in that direction.

I love the south France but not cheap. Nearly as expensive as Pembrokeshire where I live.

Practically everything is cheaper in Spain than France,,BUSBY.

It’s not an area I would be comfortable staying overnight. All a bit Dodge City. You don’t have to go too far in each direction for somewhere to stay.

Not as much as in the UK though!

May fill up some gerry cans whilst I am there.

Too many decisions to make

One things for sure is that I will not be spending the bight there unless we over do the wine tasting.

Absolutely,we filled up a few months back about 10/12km from La Jonquera and it was cosiderarably cheaper.

La Jonquera was not on the bucket list. I was just enquiring whether I would save a few quid by filling up with fuel, LPG and alcohol at that location as just over the border.

The reviews for that spot are not good so we would not be stopping over.

The weather is that good in the south France at the minute that I am trying to convince the boss to extend our holiday

Big difference in alcohol prices between Spain and France..Our last drink in Spain last June,, a pint and a large white wine 3 euros 20 cents.Next night in France a pint and a small white wine 9 euros...BUSBY.
