Currently, the van's insurance is in SWMBO's name. She turns 70 in September. Her toyboy :)LOL:) is only 64 so he was wondering whether if the policy was switched to his name, the result would be a lower premium?
Not sure whether turning 70 adversely affects coverage?

Well the policy has always been in the wife's name so presumably the NCD will apply only to her?

Yes it will, some insurance companies operate on a “net “ basis and do not use any discount, most of the better ones do though so you may not have a choice.
I don’t believe that being 70 makes any difference to the cost.

I would try another company if you have been with the same one for a while. I found the CMC MH insurance massively cheaper than SAGA. The trick to applying online seems to be not to fill in the quote you have had from your existing insurer. Just leave this field blank. I got a reduction of over £150 doing this. Their house insurance is much cheaper too for me.
