The dealer will probably get hold of an MOT for you but will it be a good one, will the van pass next time?
If the dealer is prepared to sell the van with the MOT as is I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

Not really a bad failure as failures go.

Maybe nitpicking

But dealer should put right or give a good discount.

Me I would take a big discount a do work myself.

It's all repairable and the Wentworth is a nice van. If you are prepared to do the work yourself, or pay to have it done PROPERLY then it could be a good buy. BUT I wouldn't trust the dealer to have the work done, sorry but they'll get it repaired at absolute minimum cost so a thorough independent inspection afterwards would, IMO, be essential. The fact that it's being sold "as is" says the dealer doesn't want to get involved the repairs.

What price are we looking at?
If it's cheap enough , it's easy enough to put right and they are actually only advisory anyway, another garage might even pass it with the same advisory.

Nah that's far too much given those faults. Walk away - or rather don't go there.

Not the same van I know but same base van and year.

In the past there are a few MOT failures for corrosion you would need to make sure it's been repaired properly not just bodged for an MOT.
With such a low mileage it must have spent most of its life sitting around, that would put me off. My van is five years old and I've done more miles than that.
The price seems way too high.

Even if it was put right, which you have no way of really knowing it isn't worth that.
Looks as if it could have been in a flood with all that corrosion underneath.

This age of van the advisories are not going to get better. Having repaired many such faults when an MOT is checking for structural corrosion he is not allowed to except undue pressure on these area only to observe and report. Advisories now could be expensive structural failures by next year. I cannot comment on the number of (can you just do the minimum so its get through the test) suggestions I have encountered. Not that I am in anyway suggesting the the dealer would request this. But I rarely heard do a belt and braces job so I do’t have to worry about it. I am the sort that even after agreeing a trade in price for our old van against a new one I still replaced the front discs and pads on it just to satisfy my own mind that the next owner would be safe.

Shame it ticked all the boxes great layout Broken Link Removed outside looked good. Just shows even a caravan/motorhome engineer of +20 yrs can be blindsided though with motorhomes I only ever did hab/damp checks and left the oily bits to the experts. Back to kissing them frogs :blusher:

Well fair do s it does say it comes with a 55 point check and a new MOT, so that's half of it done so now get the price down and you are away.
