My colleague has just caught me reading teh blog of a couple of old(er) travellers and stated.

" Paul you are a sad old git"

    "why?" I answered.

    To what she replied--

"Only sad old gits have motorhomes, end of"

to which I replied "I am not sad and an old git"

she then replied " you are old before your time"

Should I therefore sell up, or do what Karen says will be trendy and buy a "Campervan oohhh hold on she says a VW Campervan?"

    Or
    B) Accept I am old before my time and a boring twat. :thumb:

I should ask her what she does that makes her life so exciting.

I most certainly wouldn't accept being old before your time.

You live life to the full and spend every spare moment finding new and exciting things to do and places to go.

You involve your children in all your activities, showing them how to enjoy life to the full.

    Keep motorhoming and having fun.

Ignore her, she is the one with the boring life.

What, no motorhome, tell her she is boring and old before her time.

Bet she goes home after work and has no excitement.

Anyway, you know the answer yourself because once you have had a motorhome life would be unbearable without one.

Only sad old gits have motorhomes,[HI] end of[/HI]"

The statement "[HI]end of[/HI]" usually means "[HI]I won't pursue this, as I haven't the mental capacity to do so[/HI]".

    or

    "[HI]It's boring, innit[/HI][HI]? (I think)[/HI]"

If being trendy means freezing your nuts off, having no space for your kit, having no shower or hot water, sitting on a porta-potti in front of your other half, wiping condensation of all of your windows constantly and having to always use sites, then you can keep your VW campervan!
We'll be the boring farts enjoying an endless supply of beer from our 150l fridge and enjoying X-factor on satellite TV!
Old before our time? No, just wiser for our age!::bigsmile:

Well, I am taking a family of 4 this year to a decent site right on the beach on the Costa Brava for 2 weeks in August. Including site fees , fuel etc it will cost me less than £1500. Take the same family to the same area in an average villa miles from the beach with a smelly pool will cost about £4500- £5000.

Likewise a week in Brittany in June for about £300.

I feel such an untrendy mug::bigsmile:

    Oh come on you lot...

    Face the facts...

Motorhomes are definitely NOT... I repeat NOT... trendy...

I wouldn't have one it they were...

    JJ

Skis on the roof won't help either 'cos old people go skiing...

I suggest a couple of surf boards though... old gits don't go surfing...

If you have never owned a VW camper van then how could you possibly understand what your friend is saying. Many motor homers enjoy being sad old gits. It’s your call Paul, old before your time or not.:winky:
