Hi , wondering if it is possible to change from one gas bottle to another from within the cab. I do have a automatic gas changer valve in my shed, but would like to know when one tank has emptied. Don’t know if such a device exists or not.

Some automatic change over valves will put up a display inside telling you when you are on the spare bottle, ours does (y)

Truma Duo C plus auto changeover.?

you may already have duo C on Frankia.

Takes 15 seconds to open the gas locker door and look at the auto change-over valve to see which bottle it's using.
That sounds easy peasy, thats why I would send the wife out to do it...well shes gotta learn about all these Techie things and practice makes perfect eh? :D

Truma C Remote, fits onto the dual changeover regulator and gives you an indication inside the van when the bottle changes over.

And then before the second bottle runs out you go and remove the first to replace or refill it... ... You're still going to have to open the locker door so why not just have a look.

something like this:

Edited to say that the switch in the picture, Middle position is Off, Botton is on (with crash sensor) and the top allows the regulator to be heated.

No not if you have refillables?

Because it's much easier and convenient to have it pop up on the display inside (y)

I know when it's changed over so I know I have at least 15 days (less in winter) to get to a filling station.

Doesn’t say Duo C on ours I fear.

We are going for a refillable bottle with probably a gauge/app in the cab. Alugas 11kg with gauge in cab is possible. Gas it bottle 10kg with Bluetooth connectivity can offer a gauge or an alert on an app to alert you when the bottle is reaching a certain level. Thanks for input.

I'm a great fan of the "KISS" principle.

I have twin 6kg refillables with no changeover valves so nothing to go wrong. I know when a gas bottle runs out - the fridge warning goes off so I put my raincoat on over my PJ's, grab a torch and go switch the empty bottle off and the full one on.

That is, of course, if I've remembered to refill the "full" one since it ran out...................................

Simples!

Of course with the considerably cheaper Gasit level device recently discussed on here you could simply keep an eye on things from inside?

I have gauges on my two 11kg Alugas. When one runs low I manually turn over to the other. I dont let it run right out so dont need to changeover at inconvenient times.
Are the gauges in the cab ?

How about interior lights that come on when you clap?
Or a robotic self emptying cassette?
Or a fridge that automatically restocks itself with beer and then slides a cold one to you along a rail to the captain's chair.
?

We have the Truma Duo C auto changeover. The green LED shows that we are using our primary bottle. When the red LED lights up, we know it’s changed over to the secondary bottle.

Will deal with bottle and gauges first, before we move on to the next topic.

Ok so at the moment I am pricing one Gasit Bluetooth 10kg and fitting an automatic switchover as well. The bottle will text me when it is 25% full, if I forget to check.
So I only need to open the locker to change the non refillable bottle.
A cunning plan that could work. ?
