Hi all, am planning a trip to Italy, would like to travel through Austria on the Innsbruck route that is no doubt widely used (haven't been before).
Although we won't be using motorway, is a vignette or toll required for this route?

Many TIA, Mike.

Google maps suggest you can do it.
What you do is put in the route then under options use no toll roads.

Or thats what I did. Cant say I have driven that bit

I think you are OK, just make sure you turn right here to avoid autobahn A12, stay on B171.

Tio64 I have always come this way from Fussen so cannot speak personally before Zirl but I have travelled those exact roads in both directions in a 4t van and no go box needed so you won’t need a vignette either for your weight.

Its the Old Brenner road. Park up in Brenner on the large tarmac market area on the road south after the centre and walk back for a coffee on the high street. You may be lucky and find a big enough spot to park on the road that goes through the centre. If it’s cold the sheepskins on the seats keep you warm 😊
