Tried always to watch tv via ipad from wifi only get sound no picture. Tv is cello so android and ipad apple could this be the problem?

We’ve been looking at the Apple Adaptor with the HDMI connection - £50 from Apple - we have an Avtex TV - does anyone know if that would be the thing to buy? I’m thinking if it’s an HDMI lead it should connect with any TV - So it should work with your Cello?

So now there are two Funsters waiting for some info please!

You can buy the Apple Lightning connector which costs around £40 or so, this connects the iPad to a tv through a HDMI cable.

What are you trying to watch? Some TV providers (Sky, Virgin) block the TV output to external screens.

Are you able to see the iPad screen on the TV when not watching TV?

You can see the iPad screen on the tv but Sky will not work.

I've had problems getting an iPad to talk to an Android (Samsung) TV....

It is all streaming services that do not work. You can only watch iTunes and videos that are in the iPad.

As you'd expect. Skys license agreement with content providers doesn't allow recording of unencrypted content - which would be possible if you could do what you intend.

I connect my MacBook to my finlux tv with a cable..Works fine.BUSBY.

We successfully did this with a Chromecast but your TV needs an HDMI port and it's still a bit of a faff. However, we found that an Amazon Firestick was a better and easier option.

If you have downloaded films put them on a USB stick or USB hard drive. You just have to make sure the tv can read the file format. MP4, MKV Etc.

I also use a HDMI WiFi Dongle but use a Samsung Tablet and Netflix downloaded series

We were thinking of buying this - but then saw the largely negative reviews on the Apple Store app for it, and decided against.

I have had content off My I-Pad Mini, via Cromecast? in the past. My issue was more to do with the broadband (bandwidth).
