I’m currently planning out the electrical system for our van conversion and I see you can get an inverter/charger. These are quite expensive pieces of kit and I was wondering if the premium is worth it over just a regular inverter and a regular charger? Looking at a 2500w+ inverter.

Hi for sure the inverter/charger are a neat bit of kit and there are certain advantages having the whole solution in one box, simplified installation must be one of them and another being the ability to share mains power duties between the EHU and the inverter (not sure that they all do this). I dont know the relative price difference between a combi unit and buying the bits individually but I do know that Michael sallylillian has a Buttner unit for sale at a chunk less than full retail.

To half answer the question, I bought the Buttner unit sallylillian had for sale.
I will be back soon with many many more questions ?
