I'm a newbie, 15 years touring.
Hi,

My names Tony and my partner is Anne.

We've bought a MH and collect it on tuesday, it's a first, I've had tourers before, but always fancied a camper.

I'm ex RN, BAe and then civil servant. I took early retirement some years ago and we moved from Carmarthen out to France last year, renting a bungalow between Saintes and Cognac.

We had a mobile home for 12 years on the coast 40 miles west which we've just sold, and are now looking forward to seeing more of France, then Spain, Portugal and Italy over the next 12 months.

I'm a rugby fanatic, Llanelli Scarlets, and in the next 12 months can see them play twice in France and twice in Italy, so I'm now booking places to stay::bigsmile:

I'm looking forward to delving through lots of threads for much needed info, I guess we've got a lot to learn, so bientot for now

We're doing our best for the local producers, luckily I think its going to be a good year so you should be ok for cognac, pineau and red wine:winky:

Hi there, just wanted to add my welcome to the others.
Have just returned from a 7 week meander round the 'blessed hexagon'.
Including a run up from Bergerac through Charentes Maritimes to the Ile de Rea.
Pretty much your neck of the woods.
Can recommend Lot if you're into rugby, particularly a rugby bar in Lacapelle Biron.
Watched England hammer France on the tv there a few years ago and they still smiled and welcomed me!:Smile::Smile::Smile:

introducing myself

Firstly, congratulations to Tony and Anne - you're about to have many years of happy motorhoming.

I'm newly registered to the motorhome fun community - so I'll introduce myself-

I'm Lorraine, living on the south coast, East Sussex and just getting my confidence up for single motorhoming. I've owned the motorhome for 3 years (travelled France, Germany, Croatia and some of the UK), but my ex partner always preferred to drive (its a Left hand drive).

We split earlier this year (Quite amicably) - he kept the house and cats, I kept the motorhome! I've done a few weekends away on my own and taken a friend with me etc. I'm growing in confidence each time I take it out but I'm not sure how much I will use it on my own.

I've joined today as I'm hoping to hear of others in similar situation. The people I meet and talk to on motohoming trips are the people I enjoy mixing with. I thought about going on a VW rally - I've never done a rally before!

I look forward to reading some of the forums.

Hi all, sorry about the delay, I had a problem with paypal but its now sorted so I've subscribed.

Thanks for the welcome, really looking forward to a rally somewhere to meet some of you. Maybe even on a site in France/Spain/Portugal/Italy:thumb:

In fact we intend spending a month in the Pyrenees Dec/Jan, as long as the roads are easy enough for a beginner and the snow isn't too deep:winky:

Hi Frankie,

We're not too bad on the language, but struggle to hold long conversations so we don't do much socialising yet. Have to stick to short chats over the fences, get on with everyone o.k. We're going to a meet the voisins neighborhood do on 3rd of Sept, so we are trying to improve the vocab before then:winky:.
We've decided to stick to the French side of the Pyrennees this time, so we could well meet up with you dec/jan as we are going to Castres for a rugby match w/e of 20th of Jan (Scarlets v Castres in the H Cup),
Then its off to the Nice Carnival late Feb, not sure yet if we'll go home after Castres or have a full 3 month trip (Dec/Mar).

I was going to say welcome as well, then I spotted your join date:Smile:
We had actually bought before we joined, we wanted a.c. fitted:Doh: then the weather turned cool as soon as they fitted it:RollEyes:, still one thing is guaranteed out here, it will get hot again.
