I had brand new pads fitted, all round on my 2011 Fiat Euro 4 last year and have done around 2500 miles on them. Driving on the R104 to Tafroute this morning, very hilly and using my brakes a lot the brake wear warning dash light came on then went off and came on again a few miles later and so on and so pn. The warning light is now off. Has anyone experianced this and any idea what is causing it.
Thanks in advance.

Check that the wires to pads are not rubbing and shorting to earth :)

There is usually only 1 pad actually has a wear indicator connection. On mine it is drivers side LHD
It is possible that the wire was left dangling or become disconnected and worn through or damaged so that it occasionally touches ground/earth.
A garage could possibly have fitted pads without the wear indicator connection hence it being left disconnected

Here is a regular set of front pads and as you can see only 1 has a connection.
The rear brakes do not have one so don't bother looking there

Brilliant @Techno you are a star. Found the wires coming out from the armoured cable protector and I think one has it's protective sleeve worn from road debris. I'm in the desert and can't quite get under far enough to have a very close look. I'm getting a service by Fiat in Agadir on the way out and will get them to sort. Thanks again. 10 out of 10 and top of put class.
