Had our van for nearly a year now The one thing that has always bugged me , is
is quite dark inside due to cherry coloured furniture & orangey/red upholstery.

I have noticed looking at more modern vans they tend to use much lighter fabrics & also
the furniture they do a bit of mix & match darker cupboards with lighter doors.

so i thought i know lets change the doors for an off white & see what it looks like so
here we go pics before & after.

Uphosltery may be next:Smile:

Karl

Wow you did a great job. It looks much brighter. Did you use paint or Mdf?

Don't want to sound negative Karl, but I think you would have been better off keeping the units the same and changing the upholstery.
I'd also keep the old doors so that if you come to sell it the buyer could always put them back on!

That's brilliant. What a good job, it's made your van look 10 years younger!

There are some lovely fabrics around, would you reupholster yourself too?

No unfortunately, the uphosltery would have to be done by a professional, spoke to tappers at the newbury show, but they want £1450.00:Eeek::Eeek:

I think it looks great! Luckily our motorhome uses light colored wood and I think it does make a difference. I'm going to find some nice material to make some curtains, as I hate the bland beige ones that we've got...

Ouch! It looks a straight forward job, shame there's not a local seamstress upholsterer who could do it.

Terry has a good one I think.

A friend of mine had upholstery recovered a while back in his Avondale caravan in some excellent quality fabric, no where near that price. I understand the company had a campsite so that you could camp overnight whilst the work was carried out. He is away this weekend but when he returns I shall get details and update post. It may be worth checking out.:thumb:

We had ours done by Tappers in cream leather, makes the interior look larger and they did a great job.

You could get some removable covers for the seats instead of totally reupholstering them then you could remove them for washing, especially useful if you do go for a light colour.
