Seems a bit of a halfway solution to me.
It is equally important to retain some heat around the engine bay so help with cold starting and prevention of diesel waxing in the filter.

I think it best to stick with a full cab cover.

Cheap skate solution for me got Silverscreens for the top and an old sleeping bag does the bottom when in a ski resort keeps the engine bay nice an warm.

edit: sorry seem to be only for cab vans.
