According to Apple, facial recognition doesn't work with young people whos faces are still developing so don't by your kids this 1k phone.....;)

You're wrong @buttons - it's not a problem, it's a feature!

You'll have heard of "built in obsolescence", this is Apple's version of it.
Research has shown that a few consumers are reluctant to buy the next upgrade immediately it's released, often skipping a generation [iphone 3 > iphone 5 missing #4 etc], this reduces the much needed income flowing into Apple's coffers and so they developed this feature!

What is Apple say is that facial recognition may not suitable for youngsters who’s facial characteristics have not developed and are similar to other youngsters and therefore the security of the device may not be as it might in adult users. Seems logical to me In the case of siblings or twins but I expect older twins may still be abler to unlock with facial recognition. I don’t see this as a problem. People can alsways use a passcode if they think it appropriate, and should have some responsibility for their own security. As for me, and millions of others, I know I don’t have a twin and I know that no one looks exactly like me so I am happy with it.
