Our 2017 motorhome is affected by the above recall.

We are booked on to the Channel Tunnel on 1st March intending to tour France and Spain for 10 weeks.

No FIAT Professional garage can book us in for the recall before the end of the third week in March.

Is anyone else finding this?

Is it a question of availability of the part or simply workload?

We are also subject to this recall.

We are booked in to Travelworld to have it fixed in early June. They told us about the recall in January when we were having the EGR recall done, and seemed quite relaxed that we were leaving it 6 months before getting it fixed.

So I’d not worry about it, take the holiday and get if fixed when you get back.

Caveat - don’t blame me if it goes wrong, just saying what we’ve done about it (y)

Could you do anything yourself to beef it up or improve it yourself before you set off ?

My worry on that was that “beefing it up” myself means I have accepted the warning but have not allowed FIAT to deal with it.

Knowing FIAT that gives them an excuse to avoid paying for any damage caused by a subsequent failure.

I’m having our van done on Friday 16 th at Platts in Stoke on Trent, I went to see them about 2 weeks ago about the recall which they didn’t know about.
The service manager phoned someone who agreed about the recall and they ordered the parts there and then and gave me this Friday to take the van in.

Problem solved.

Although the parts should have been fitted yesterday they hadn’t arrived.

Received a ‘phone call this morning. They arrived today and will be fitted tomorrow morning.

RESULT,:)

That’s it.

Job done!:)

If you live in South Wales, and need a FIAT Professional garage, this garage were excellent in getting us out of a spot.

The only problem is that they are officially the “car” arm of the Company so have a small service bay, only able to accommodate PVC type motorhomes. There is also the “proper” commercial workshop in Newport, who didn’t have a space in their schedule but referred me to their car unit. The Newport branch can accommodate coachbuilt etc but tends to be busy requiring early bookings.

Since I was a toddler.
According to what I have been told, this recall affects all Fiat Ducatos manufactured between 9th January 2015 and31st January 2018.

Owners are expected to contact Fiat...even if its not shown as a recall on FiatCamper.

I phoned a local dealer yesterday booked in for the 1st March and they will make sure they have the parts. Couldn't get it in any sooner as they only have one bay that can take large vans.

The parts have been delivered at last so I'm booked in for Friday 13th. :)

Superstitious, moi? What could possibly go wrong ...

Oh well, fingers crossed there won't be a 3rd recall.

It is a 5 minute, while you wait fix.
The mechanical at my Fiat Professional dealership did bother taking the van into the workshop... He fixed the problem standing outside the van in the park lot.
Looked like a simple jubilee clip removal and replacement

yes, i believe the job has a booked workshop time of 0.2 hours!!

annoying as would be quicker to do myself!, less costly in terms of my time off work, and diesel there and back................but of course wouldnt be covered under warranty then.......Oh Please!!
