Hi all

We're in the process of looking for a 'toad' and will probably buy a Fiat Seicento. If and when the car has the A frame fitted, will the insurance company consider it to have been modified?

Yes you should declare that a towing attachment has been fitted, also you should make sure that the toad or RV insurance are happy with it being towed and that the policy is fully comp even when attached. as many policies revert to 3rd party only on the toad, when its fixed to the RV
I'm with NFU and have both vehicles covered by them and they are fully conversant with the principle of A frame towing

Insurance for a toad

Geo,

When is your renewal due?

Just in the process of renewing with NFU, been with them five years, with toad and m/h on same policy....they have introduced a new IT system (to streamline things) and the toad may now be only third party now...we are still talking about it.

May well be worth a call to NFU.
