Has anyone dealt with or used Lexham for their motorhome insurance? They have come in £500 cheaper than other quotes which makes me very nervous that they are missing something, but can't see what. Anyone had a claim with them? As I guess that's the only time you find out how good they are!

4 quotes. £855, £1293, £1127 & £565. Both the more expensive ones include European breakdown but we have that under separate cover.

The important thing is who is the insurer behind Lexham - some of these broker schemes use unregistered European insurers. Personally I use Comfort because they have Aviva behind them and are very reasonably priced

Can anyone shed any light? Have gone with Lexham who have asked to have proof of our no claims with our last insurer who is Adrian Flux. Sent an email to Adrian Flux and they have sent something back saying we couldn't accrue a no claims bonus on the policy but have send a letter saying there are no claim records on the policy! New insurer is querying!

It may be a flat rated policy without no claims bonus. How many years have you had motorhome insurance for?

Hmm, I think I understand that. So flux don’t need proof of no claims as they just quote best price regardless. But new insurers should surely accept the letter from flux that says there have not been any claims on that policy for 2 years? I get frustrated at the brokers as I think they should be knowledgable about the products they are selling but their staff seem to know less than me which is quite frightening😂.

It doesnt matter how you get to it but it's the bottom line that counts. If Lexham or anyone else's price is too high, vote with your feet!

For information.

We have breakdown cover with the RAC. We checked to ensure it covers the new MH, and it doesn't!

'Personal' membership will cover Motorhomes up to a certain size and weight, but our's is outside of this.

RAC gave us a quote for upgrading our cover to cover the new MH though, which isn't far off our normal 2 x personal cover we already have in place.

Interestingly, new policies have a 24hour 'delay' before they will give you full cover. They will tow you 10 miles, but you have to wait 24hour to get the full coverage. I did express how disappointed I was with this, being a customer since 2003, they don't trust I won't abuse their system. 'There's nothing I can do, it's the rules' - 'Yes, there is something you can do, it's your rules, not the bloody law'. Anyways, it means I'll just need to switch breakdown policies a day earlier than we need. 10 miles breakdown will get me nowhere!

We didn't add European cover at this point, I think that's an extra £69, but don't quote me. If we get to Europe this year, we'll add it when we need it.

Been trying to find out re Lexham
seems offering motorhome insurance only since 2021 - I’d guess that’s why they are so cheap,
cant find reference to underwriters online - yet
or who does their breakdown
safeguard coming in for insurance plus breakdown - AA again ☹️- £476

I have just gone with flux and was with comfort before. Flux asked for proof of my no claims which I have provided

Bamboo's photo is of an American RV. Is that why some of his quotes are sky high? If Lexham are just starting to insure motorhomes is this a "come on" offer to be followed by a hike in following years?

I am with Advance insurance services who like Flux and Comfort are brokers. They have some wriggle room though as they say they will price match. My renewal quote is £449 on a self conversion sprinter. The value of the vehicle makes a huge difference to the premium. Last year Flux quoted me around £1300 which was bizarre!

Generally speaking avoid Gibraltar registered insurers like the plague. Not regulated by the UK financial conduct authority
