l bought a moho 18 months ago l also have another vehicle and l have maximum no claims bonus today my insurance policy for the moho came in for renewal and l find that l only have 2 years no claims on the policy has anyone else been mistreated like this or is it correct???

I thought you could only have your no claims bonus on one vehicle...?

Comfort ins don’t do no claims discounts...

You gain your NCD on your separate policies, so if you have 2 policies you gain NCD on each one for the length of time that each policy has no claims made against them. Some companies will give you an increase in NCD on a new policy if you have max NCD on another policy (mine gave me an extra 2 years on my MH policy) but not all of them will.

re 18 months policy had to sorn due to wifes knee replacement op so also suspended insurance seems unfair starting again with a new policy it must be that because you can afford 2 vehicles the insurers are going to get as much money out of you as they can seems unfair to me

Had my no claims mirrored on my motorhome. Not got a clue how this works but I think it’s a way of making you’re policy cost too high and then bringing it down to make it sound more reasonable but when you finally realise how much it costs you need to sit down and call yourself a tit

As you say Comfort have a net policy but some companies will mirror your car NCB, Scenic did that on my first policy gave me full NCB but couldn't have protected NCB for the first year.

Try Comfort, good policy & don't need to worry about NCB.

Is it worth swapping car insurances as you renew. That way she keeps her NCD going.

My experience is that your no claims discount can only be used on one policy at a time....if you have policies with different companies for different vehicle that sounds like standard policy for most companies....you would need to choose where you use your no claims.....you can try and get one company to quote for multi cover etc but it does sound similar to what I have experienced....? If you get a policy included with a new vehicle (ie a years free insurance) the company may offer a ‘mirror’ level of cover to what you had previously with a similar level of discount to encourage you to stay with them....but not always!
