Hi!
If your van is over 3.5 tons and you have just reached 70, you may be able to apply for a C1 licence allowing you to drive heavier vehicles up to 7.5 tons.
Insurance on Motorhomes is sometimes cheaper than that for a car. Mine is just over £300 with everything I need included.
If you search around this site I am sure you will find several recommended companies. I am with Shield and happy but there are many others.
Google motorhome insurance to find some personal experiences.
