I am seeking insurance advice regarding towing a car behind my motorhome and what other members experiences are.
I have the motorhome and a buggy on a trailer and a smart car with an electronically braked A frame.
I am having a problem getting the towed vehicles covered comprehensively.
Any help appreciated
Also can anyone confirm towing cover approval with A frame
Another vague answer from insurance co when asked " What cover if tow car stolen whilst in transit"
thank you

It’s a well known issue and a risk that many just have to accept.

One possible ‘solution’ is to ensure that you have both vehicles with the same insurer but I’m nit convinced that this would circumvent the issue you’re having.

Have you explored ‘Goods‘ Insurance?

I’m not sure the OP wanted to tow both at the same time with one vehicle! Only Showmen, agricultural and licensed recovery operators can do that legally, and are then limited to 40mph max....

Any trailer being towed should be covered 1/3rd party only, by the towing vehicles insurance. However, you do need to inform the insurance that you will be towing!
the question then will be if they accept a car on ‘A’ frame as a trailer....

The vehicle being towed needs it’s own insurance for when the ‘A’ frame isn’t attached, but you need to inform the insurance company that the car has been modified.... here is an example of what One ‘A’ frame manufacturer was fitting behind the bumper of a Smart Car....... it begs the question what it does for the crumple zones and airbag deployment? I’m not sure the insurance company would be impressed....🤔
