In a few years I will be 80, does it pay to go to a Insurance company a few years before you turn 80 and use them, if so any recommendations of companies please, or if it does not make any difference, about using before 80, recommendations of companies that will take you on at 80 years old .
Thanks

Knew a motorhomer in his 80s and used CAMC Red Pennant insurance right up until he died in his 90s.

I’m plus 80 and with Safeguard,I have been with them for the last few years so I’m not sure if they would take me on as a new customer.

Some years ago Comfort told us that they would continue to insure after 80 if you were already a customer and no problems insuring my husband at 85. I’m using them now and am very interested to know if this is still the case.

Ditto for Comfort.

I am 80 with Comfort and had a total loss last July in the form of my motorhome stolen from my drive. I was just 79 at that time. Youngster! Comfort paid promptly without any problem, and, wonderfully, accepted my renewal. At nearly double the cost, but I'm still camping. Or will be in a few months!
Whilst I was sans camper I had to buy a car to cover. I had plenty of trouble insuring that. Comfort said that they were uncompetitive with cars as they specialised in MH, so try online comparative sites. Almost without exception, they gave very competitive quotes which they suddenly withdrew when advised of the theft. They now said that at 80, I did not fit their profile. Thanks! I did finally find Vivalety, who, at a suitably increased premium, would cover me. So, good luck!

Have been insuring our van with Comfort for a couple of years, I am 82-3 previously with CAMC, who didn't want to know after I turned 80, and they tried to charge over £1000 for Red Pennant which we had used for 15 years without a claim

For the OP, are you asking about vehicle insurance, travel insurance or health insurance?
Sorry should have said Motorhome Insurance I interested in.

Where's rosalan when you need him.
At your service Derek. Re Insurance I had a roll-over insurance quote (Which I never accept) of £327, up by £20 on last years. Using Moneysupermarket.com, which I always use, I got three quotes from various companies,. The lowest was around £2000 and the highest £6000. Coming round with cold water gently dashed across my face, I was delighted to accept Performance Direct's quote. I am 82.
