Having received this years quotes for our A class and Audi car £743 for both including 180 days Eu driving and breakdown and recovery. I thought I would shop around to compare. Saga supposed to look after the elderly (74) for just the car £790. The camping and caravan club £993 just for the van max 90 days eu max 60 days at a time. Just where do they get their prices from?

Just renewed mine today with comfort. Also an A class. £440 including European breakdown cover which was £75.

Try LV, but make sure you specify all the kit and cost of your MH.

See other threads/posts on insurance.

I've just had 2 quotes today for my 22 Dethleffs

Lifesure renewal £370 v Saga £670

I have Out Smart the Thief fitted which is recognised by Lifesure

Never had a problem getting touch.

Hhhmm was 10 months ago I guess

I could do a quote online, in fact they encourage this with a 5% discount. However they could not identify my vehicle. However, I could not find a phone number on the website to ring. ( Maybe I am being thick but I did search around for quite a while)

Thanks but too late now as I gave up and stayed with Comfort.

Anyway, all the above are numbers for current customers not for new quotes.

I did all the ringing around and had all kinds of quotes up to £1500 and some companies that just wouldn't quote which is odd as I am 'just' 60, full no claims, live in a reasonably safe post code.

Anyway -stuck with current insurer Comfort for £428

Assume you ring and ask to be transferred. I would have.

Does that include European breakdown?

Liverpool Victoria car and van fully comp 495

I tried LV and after about an hour on the phone getting a very competitive quote found out they only do up to 3850kg, we’re 4400. So sticking with Comfort/Aviva. Aviva say that parts and even labour has gone up considerably and thefts have quadrupled, that is the reason for 14% increase for us. However, our insurance is still £358 with full breakdown cover in Europe.

That sounds expensive compared some of the others
I'm looking at £420 on a £70k MoHo -- including £70 breakdown European breakdown cover

I’ve been with CaravanGuard for six years, every year they have come out best, includes breakdown, tow car the lot. I had to use the breakdown service one year, it was absolutely faultless.
I always check the clubs by habit and they have always been a joke for me.

I was paying Comfort £798 after my premium doubled due to 2 reasonably small claims, the really irritating thing is the claims were nothing to do with my motorhome, there were on a separate policy on my private car one was the car caught fire, no fault of mine but the loading stays on the premium for 5 years for a fire which is 5yrs this year so hopefully see a reduction or I'll be looking elsewhere. 😉

Rang around 8 insurance companies and just about to insure ours with Comfort....2 drivers (72 & 64) £325 + £73 for UK and European breakdown with trailer and scooter..

Tony, Thats the path I take every year out of habit, but as I said CaravanGuard have won through for me @ 69 and the boss @ 68 every time. I may add unlike some of the others , they are excellent to deal with very professional unlike others with the “give us money” attitude and nit picking.

I'm with LV at 4400kg.

I agree with your thoughts on Caravan Guard, they are extremely good & knowledgeable. The only company that would give me the option to travel through Montenegro & Albania (extra £25 for the green card - fair enough). Their Euro Breakdown is good value too.

Another 👍 for Caravan Guard. I have just moved from a caravan to a Motorhome. They count my time towing!
