I saw a post recently about a German company that is recommended for travelling in Europe.

We are intending to travel around the uk until October and then get the ferry to Amsterdam in October and then stay abroad for a few months.

Looked everywhere and can't find it.

Thanks Mr Busby. It must have been about breakdown insurance.

In that case, which company is recommended for long term MH insurance when abroad.

I've just taken insurance through AIB who put cover with Aviva. It has long term Europen use included, haven't got the docs through yet but I think I recall it gave up to 8 months at a time. Have to say I didn't pay much attention to it as my longest Eurpean trip planned is 60 days.

May be worth a call, I dealt with a chap called Murray

I would recommend the Caravan Club's Red Pennant insurance, excellent cover, even repatriation if the worst happens.

    Hope this helps.

Yes it does cover all your cars in the UK as well, I had cause to use them for my car and they were excellent. I heard anecdotal tales that they were no,longer taking new applications from the UK but renewing existing policies. Don't know if that's true.

You could try ringing Barbara Lorenz, she speaks perfect English, on
    tel:00 49 941 52344.

There is a translation on the web somewhere, I will see if I can find it.

I've just visited the ADAC site and this statement stopped me in my tracks:
"Using the links below to acquire ADAC membership requires that your place of residence is in Germany"
Think I will have to try the phone number provided by Xabia.
