Has anyone been to Bosnia?
Can you give any tips about insurance or anything else?
Considering whether to go or not
Any advice appreciated as usual.

We got ours at the border when we went 8 years ago. Fascinating country. Well worth a visit.

Thanks @Mattyjwr
Not many campsites open right now.
I'm guessing you went in the summer?

Yes. I don't think that it is as much fun or as interesting now compared to the summer. I would like to visit during the autumn harvest though as there would be lots of pickling, distilling etc going on. The Bosnians seem to be very keen to maintain traditions and prepare well for the siege of winter.

We're generally finding the out of season trip has a different dimension being not touristy which we enjoy . There are still English speaking walking tours in all the big cities which are great.
Our main worry is lack of open campsites.

We didn't find it touristy anyway (apart from Mostar) . Might have changed since then.

We didn't camp as the motels were just as cheap as the campsites and it gave us more chance to find out more about the country in the limited time that we had.

Good idea but we do have a dog.
Maybe I can approach some of those.
Find it odd that camper contact just has nothing listed in the middle of the country and the ones around Sarajevo are closed this time of year.
Could go with park4night but we haven't always found that reliable

It isn't / wasn't a touristy country. Most visitors use it as a shortcut apparently. The weather isn't appealing at this time of year.

We saw signs for camping next to signs for motels. We could have slept in our camper van but it was not much cheaper than the motel and breakfast. The people we spoke to were very friendly; I don't think that there would be any problems finding places to park for the night.
