Informal Rally/Get together Portpatrick 28th June>1st July

A few Funsters on the Morning thread asked if I could arrange a small get together in Portpatrick in Dumfries and Galloway.

I have spoken to both campsites on the edge of the village and both have a field we can use, the best option is http://www.castlebayholidaypark.co.uk/ who have said they can take up to 20 vans. They have EHU available for a few vans if required. The site is less than 1/2 mile from the village via a coastal path, if anyone can't manage the path you can go via quiet road and its roughly 1 mile.

They have quoted me £18 PN without EHU but would be willing to do a deal the more vans we get, if we work on this basis and any discount would be a bonus. Discount confirmed at £15 PN payable direct to site.

If you've never been to PP before then in my opinion you're in for a treat, its a lovely little coast village in the SW of Scotland and apart from stunning views, great pubs, one of the best seafood restaurants in Scotland and really friendly locals it really doesn't have much going for it .

This will be more of an informal get together than an organised rally so no pressure to do anything apart from relax and enjoy the weekend. I can supply ideas for other places to stop in the area if you're up a day or two early.

Anyone interested please post here before Monday night as I will be calling the site to book. Once we have confirmed numbers and booking with site I will let you know regarding payment as it might be to the site directly.

Contacted the site today and have provisionally booked the weekend for 10 vans, the site manager was off today so haven't got the price confirmed as still hoping for a small discount.

I've booked Friday to Monday but not sure what everyone wants if you could let me know that would be great, just to help me with discount negotiations.

Once I speak with the manager tomorrow I'll be looking for payment which will probably be direct with the site.

Hi Gerry,thanks for alerting us on another thread re this meet.
Yes ideally we would love to come, however TinaL is due to have some major Brain surgery back end of April, so if all goes well and the recuperation all goes to plan, then yes, would love to come up.
If there is provision for a thick pencil booking arrangement, then please put our names down, however we dont want to take up a confirmed spot blocking someone out that can definitely come, if that makes sense?
Maybe the crystal ball would be useful on this occasion, then again maybe not
