I'm a relative Newbie
I'll put this as a new topic though it was touched on indirectly on a previous one.
We bought our MH last year as a private sale and our first test outing was to my Morris Club Event at Thoresby Park in August. We travelled with the Dometic 3way RMD8555 Fridge freezer on 12volts and then once sited, with no electric hook up available, went onto gas. The gas cylinder was present at the sale and we knew it was low but decided to use it up, as it didn't matter if it ran out. The plan was for 2 nights but opted with beautiful weather for a 3rd, though we were asked to leave early the next day as another Event was going to be setup. In the morning we prepared for the off, turned the ignition key and nothing, we had a totally flat battery. It was at this point that my Partner said that in the middle of the night she had been woken by the red light on the FF flashing. Realising that the the gas had run out, having seen me use the FF control panel, switched it to electric (12v). Of course we all know that shouldn't have been possible.
Fast forward to end of Oct we had the van into the Autotrail Agent Spinneys, Knutsford, for some remedial work and asked also if they would check what was going on with the Fridge. They reported that the fault was the FF with it's PCB and disconnected it. They later contacted us to say that the parts were no longer available and a replacement would be £3k. Needless to say we have decided to live with it,
Not one to give up, with the new season looming I decided to investigate further. I contacted Dometic and a very helpful young lady in the Warranty Dept did her best to help me but the Service and Spare Dept were all at the NEC. She did however assure me that spares were certainly available but not directly from them but recommended a Company called Leisure Spares (01423 320009). This week I called back to Dometic to the Spares and Service (03446 260133 option 1) and had a long chat with one of the Staff who again assured me that spares were available, at least for the RM 8000 series. He felt that the fault was not with the FF but in the circuitry between the engine and the FF, probably a Relay.

My question is does anybody know where this relay or cut off switch might be?

Sorry for the diatribe but I'm sure many may relate to parts of it and also my introduction to the Forum.
