Thanks to all of you who welcomed us to the forum, we have now taken the plunge, and after many years of tent camping have purchased our first MH (Bürstner).

Having no idea about Motorhoming we are truly newbies.

After weeks of searching for the perfect MH, it seems that the searching now continues with trying to find the first perfect Euro trip to Northern France for Easter weekend.

2 Adults, 2 Kids, aged 10, seeking a great place to stay perhaps along the North West coast heading south from Calais, just for an Easter break, Thursday > Monday.

Any advice / recommendations appreciated, perhaps Calais heading down to Dieppe ? Or any other suggestions most welcome too.

Anybody who knows of some great sites to stay at, which are perfect for families please let us know, as we have been looking for ages, and would welcome your suggestions.

Hi ,ST and welcome .You could drive down to a good site for kids at Berny-Rivière ( La Croix du Vieux Pont) Picardie .About a3hr drive from Calais but you need to remember a lot of the sites do not open fully so some advertise facitiies will not be available it's about 1.5 hrs from Paris and Disneyland and the site have there own bus for trips to both venues .If you have your Acsi book you will get your off season discount and the coordinates are in the book .

Hello Welcome, try to get away for the weekend in the van before you head over the channel to make sure you have everything packed and know how things work . A good idea to become a full member £15 a year, then as long as you have wifi then any problems you can ask on here. Otherwise you only have 5 free posts.

Le Touquet is worth a visit.Good aire a stones throw from the
beach and a lovely town full of restaurants.

Have you thought about ferries from Poole or Portsmouth to France.
It will be a bit dearer but it will save you all that time driving to Dover and back and the onward journey in France
Loads to do in Normandy or Brittany.

Thanks for the nice recommendations, they do look good - yes i checked from Poole, but the fare is around £600+ at Easter compared to £131 from Dover, so will have to drive to Dover
