Not convinced. My air impact wrench didn't come close and it is 1/6th of the torque of the breaker bar I used. I know impact helps, so you can't directly compare, but not that much! It probably does a better job than my cheap air wrench, though!
Got the same front sprocket bolt you are talking about on both my ZX12 and ZZR1400 without a bit of 4x2 through the swinging arm. Incredible power for the money.

I'm a newbie
Unless the OP is minted spending Ā£300 + to undo the occasional wheel nut is a bit overkill

They still had a few of the mains inpact wrenches in lidl Ā£40 , if you have access to mains power you don't need a battery one

OK guys
I have bitten the De Walt bullet
I Have a De Walt drill and decided to go
with a De Walt Impact Wrench Ā£149 at Screw fix
made my eyes smart and my wallet clamp tight
But undid the wallet and removes the Ducatto Wheel bolts beautifully
Thanks to everyone for looking and adding comments
Anyone want to hire a Torque Wrench by the day get in touch the price won't be reasonable
I have to do a bit of recouping

Canā€™t beat Black & Decker šŸ˜‰

I have an 18v AEG 1/2ā€ drive, it was tad expensive but serious quality and never fails.

Milwaukee,šŸ‘and DeWalt,( cannot believe I am recommending anything DeWalt šŸ˜ usually well over priced for what they do,but the impact driver's are really good )

One of these ................... :gum:

That is by far the best option. I use one (different make 'cos I've had it for years). Nothing defeats it.

Not sure if a few people on here are mixing up two tools.
An impact drivers is a replacement for a screwdriver and is not suitable for big bolts.
An impact wrench is a replacement for a wrench or socket set as we call them here and is designed for big bolts.

I bought this one and have been extremely happy with it.

champers got one for John an ex mechanic and he has been happy with it as well I believe.

PS: It is only Ā£84 if you already have the battery and charger for other tools in the range. If you don't already have a Ryobi set then it will be a bit more pricey to get set up.

I have the ryobi High power torch, Hoover, Drill, Wrench, router, multitool, jigsaw and some others I can't remember off the top of my head. Jim also went a bit nuts with his Ryobi set up as well I believe?

Great bit of kit once you have the initial battery and charger.

You need to see what the torque is. The Ryobi is no where near the Milwaukee or DeWalt but good for the money šŸ˜‰

The multiplier I linked manages 3800Nm. (y) Covers most needs I'd imagine.
Does the curved bit not have to sit against something solid? If so useless on a motorbike drive sprocket.

Half the problem is keeping the brakes on hard enough and stopping the bike flying through the wall.

Trust me - the Clarke Rattle Gun will get it off easily with just the back brake on. The trouble with the battery impact guns is that unless you are on the tools and using them regularly, when you come to use them the battery is always knackered.

It does and I was only thinking of Motorhome uses - there are a lot of incredibly tight fasteners on the base vehicles. Bike drive sprockets (on some makes) are a real pain. Never locked one with the brake though. Before owning a windy gun I used a short length of old chain with the ends welded either side of one end of a steel bar. Loop chain around sprocket and wedge the bar against a convenient frame part. Trying to undo a sprocket whilst winding up a cush drive is hard work.

I've always worked on the basis that the correct wheel bolt torque setting on the Ducato Maxi chassis was 180 N/m.

Recently, however, I was alongside a Ducato Maxi based ambulance at the traffic lights and noticed that the tightning torque printed on the wheel arch was 196 N/m. It was on the standard Maxi alloys.

It should do that. The torque rating is determined by hammer blows against something with inertia (ie not flesh :giggle: ). I can undo the final drive sprocket nut on a motorcycle with an windy gun just by holding the sprocket tightly by hand - the inertia of the sprocket & gearshaft does the rest.
OK, I'll re-phrase it
I can put it on a very finger tight nut and it expels air with no impact.
In free air it rotates.
Biggest piece of crap I ever bought.

The tyre fitters at one of our local outlets think the "click" of the torque wrench is the signal to give it another quarter turn !

Buy a Torque Wrench. Buy a bit of metal pipe that will fit over the Torque wrench handle for more leverage to undo. I actually have a Air Compressor Impact Drill like the guys use in Tyre shops.... but then I also have a ton of other uses for an Air Compressor. (y)

Never try this with a torque wrench unless you're prepared to scrap it afterwards! They are calibrated instruments and not designed for that sort of useage.
Use a proper, good quality breaker bar.

Interesting.... My Trust Torque Wrench is over 30 years old and doing fine. I use it always to check Tyre guys after they done the tyres.

Think Beltie means not to use torque wrench to undo nuts and defo not with extension bar... they are designed to tighten.....not loosen
