I'm a newbie
How much is a fair price for fitting an immobiliser to a short wheelbase van? How long would it take? I want to do this instead of using a trickle charger.

Hi

Not sure of the connection between immobiliser and trickle charger, different things surely? but to answer the question "I don't know"

I take it your trying to prevent flat battery. And not anti theft
If so you need battery isolation switch.... e bay under £10 big red key is removed a disconects battery it is fitted to you need one switch for leisure battery bank and one for vehicle starter battery.
An hr to fit each one.
You can achieve the same result by simply disconnecting the batteries
As an anti theft device they fail miserably as almost every one knows how to defeat them
