im new guys and really need your help Oyster Vision 2 Help please (1 Viewer)

Hi guys

my name is Thomas Higgins im a new member to motorhomefun, we just bought out first motorhome its a swift kon-tiki

there is a automatic satellite Oyster Vision 2, the problem is it wont power up, ive checked the fuse and still nothing, is there a common problem with them do you know .?

ive tried everything but nothing,, no life what so ever,

any help i would be very thankful

PS, the pictures are only for example as ive found them on this site, but my unit is the same as this one,,

The Oyster is a super unit. Whilst you have checked the fuse, have you checked with a meter that you actually have 12v on the wire ?

yes mate ive power croming from the motorhome to the box,, but dead after that,

in the power supply, there are 3 wires ( red, black, brown ) i no the black and red are for power, the brown i think is to power off the unit if the engine is started,, maybe if i disconnect the brown,,

Methinks, it may not work, because you have it connected wrong. If I remember correctly, the red goes to positive the brown to negative and the black is the control wire, connected to a clean 12v ignition switched supply. Here are the installation constructibubbles. That'll be one Guinea.

The Red is Live
The Brown is Negative/Earth/Ground
The Black is ignition live (Stows the system and will not let it open while it is powered)
