I am just so cool in France and have been for 9yrs, I use the air con system shown below and it is very popular with others as a lot of people like to escape the heat and come in my van to chill, how do you keep cool?

Fixed or mobile air con? I have cab air con in my motorhome but I also had the choice of hab air con and declined it, firstly and most importantly it took me over the 3m for the peages in France with the sensors billing me as a class 3, plus I don't want light restricted and heard about them dribbling. I do however have the perfect air con system that I have used for 9 years and last year just upgraded, I now have an Inventor 8,000btu I have used for the last 2yrs (I had a similar older model for the 7yrs previous), it runs for 6 weeks non stop while we are in France and is a life saver, it also runs on the generator if required. I sit it between the two front seats facing the rear with the vent pipe out the passenger window and down behind the silver screen, it beats any roof mounted system in my opinion as when not using it I can take it out, it's remote controlled so we lower it at night for sleeping or you would need pyjamas and a dressing gown on :D PLUS its only around £300 so a bargain compared to the Dometic system at £1,500 plus fitting and extra peage fees ;)

This is the unit:

This is the more flexible pipe I bought and use: Amazon product ASIN 9792110224
And this is a picture of it coming out under the Silver screen (y)

Dash Air Con for the Cab, the main habitation area has ducted Air Con from twin roof mounted units, which all can run whilst we drive, the roof vents are all Maxx Air powered vents with covers, and we also have two oscillating fans built in, in the cab area.

More really to keep our dog cool when we pop out and can't take him, so monitored on a Smart Cam system so we can watch him to make sure he is OK (and we have GSM remote temperature sensing just in case the mains failed and the back up inverter system kicked in.

You seem to know what you are talking about, what is the fan looking skylight thing I have in one of the skylights, it has 3 buttons, is it an extractor for the cooker?

You two are SO in trouble with St Greta Thunderbox.

I am certainly cooler than her :D although some weird people may think she's hot

Can't see why? My V10 Ford engine is the latest 2019 Californian emissions specification and is dual Petrol and LPG so produces so little emission that it qualifies for a Crit Air Category One classification for Paris etc and the built in, 6kw generator is LPG so clean and quiet.

Wow you seem to be a gadget type person, I only have the Honda EU20i converted to LPG, would love to have 6kw just need a bigger motorhome :D I think you can put as many gadgets on a motorhome as a boat, I love the excitement of finding new and unusual things to make life more comfortable, I really think I might start planning an ultimate motorhome and get one built exactly how I want it but budget would depend on whether we keep boating. We just need a few more weekends away to work out what you would need in the UK, its not rocket science, in fact its easier than boating and very similar apart from being so much cheaper. All I like about the boat is you can get away from people, crowds and traffic jams, I like the freedom of a boat, I don't like people, not quite convinced yet that its time to sell up and buy a dream motorhome, but not ruled it out (y) you never know I may already have the dream one :D

I don't see the point when in a hot country you soon acclimatise after a few days.
I lived in Africa for 13yrs so know bit about heat, trust me I DO NOT find heat enjoyable and certainly would not go to the SofF without it divorce or not (y)

Many of us on here are boat and campers

Its mainly work and the weather that spoils the boating, too many Summer weekends on the Marina, makes us jump in the camper and bugger off to the Med for some decent weather, then spend too many lunchtimes sat in Mediterranean marina restaurants missing our boat lol

As for gadgets? I do own one of the best motorhome toy shops in the Country so you would expect my camper to be "fully loaded" (y)

I agree, what the point of driving somewhere hot, just so you can sit in air conditioning . I don't get it .
You have the choice , if its too hot you have the a/c and this is especially useful for getting a good nights sleep , other wise you just enjoy . I also like snow etc , so thats why we have a heater :)
