We're planning to head to Ile de Re soon. Any recommendations for campsites. We do have ACSI cards.

Depends what you like, nice campsite in St Martin, easy walk into town, nice aire just outside, it’s a bit busy and lively!
Also a very basic site in la Flotte, v friendly, but v different to asci!!

The one on the edge of La Flotte that I mean is a very good ACSI site with swimming pool and food.

Mikeco, yes very different! The one in La Flotte is more like pitching in a well mown field with toilets c1960, but run by delightful old couple and a short walk to the harbour. No danger of it ever earning Asci membership though!!

We arrived at Le Cormoran just outside Ars en Re today... very pleasant site with first rate facilities. Also looked at La Varennes in Bois de Plage, that got good reports. Great cycling and gteat seafood... though it will still be busy in September... such a popular spot.

We were on Camping Essi last year, really like it, Grignon, further towards the top of the island small and compact, small pool, direct access to beach, short walk to superb beach restaurant (ask @ShiftZZ , or @peterc10 ) and about a 20 minute walk to Ars-en-Ré. Nice and quiet when your going ie busy but few kids. We will go again.

Nice site, very helpful, plus a really nice restaurant just down the beach, food to die for.

We stayed in the aire at St Martin last year. It's a bit tight but very convenient for the town centre. To be fair, the campsite next door is very handy too. Just a bit more costly

Second everything Simon and Dave said. Nice site with good facilities. Not ACSI but reasonable price from memory. Site roads can be a bit narrow if you are a big motorhome. The informal beach bar/restaurant a few minutes walk away did great food. Lovely to watch the sun go down.

Tried to get in the Aire at St Martin first, next to the municipal site. It was full and they were well packed in. You park under horse chestnut trees. Whilst looking round last autumn I heard the occasional thud of conker on motorhome roof!
