Motorhome parked in garden (France), yesterday walked out the door to notice that the Oyster dish was halfway up. Blamed each other and closed it. I needed to move the MH this morning, all ok. Just gone outside and the dish is halfway up again. The control unit is turned off so logically it can't do what it's doing. I've closed it down again and started the engine, reversed up and down, parked up, control unit off. I've told Casper to bark if he sees it going up again. Any thoughts please.

you've got a ghost, now you have proof all those things that 'er indoor said "you have done" you can now prove you didn't (y)

Perhaps it's missing being used on your holidays so is amusing itself instead! :giggle:

Had any high winds? A gale got under my satellite dish, flipping it up and actually all the way over, destroying the gear box in the process.

Took the b----y thing off and threw it away - we hardly ever used it anyway.

You have a serious flaw in your reply. I already know that HE has done all the things. I have threatened to fasten a camera on him to prove it.

AFAIK the Oyster system is normally installed with a permanent 12v supply. On my installation the fuse used within the CBE distribution box is labelled AUX (auxiliary equipment).

Perhaps Anthony OysterTech might know what is causing this strange phenomenon. He should be back in the office tomorrow.

You don't say what van you have but if you have an Elektroblock there is often a separate fuse block beside the EBL with fuses for Sat, fridge & heating.

It’s a Carthago with loads of fuses. When it stops raining I’ll go out and have a look, I cant fathom why it would do it whilst the control panel is off. To get the dish up I press the Media button on the panel and then the Oyster panel. If I press the oyster panel button whilst the main control panel is off, nothing happens. I’ll do as suggested and ring Anthony Oyster Tech.

Some of the fuse-ways at the CBE 12v distribution box are only enabled when the control panel is switched "on". It sounds like the Oyster system has been connected to one of these fuse-ways. The CBE manual lists all the fuse-ways and how they operate.

I don't have the media centre but have heard it's powered from the starter battery causing a potential drain on the battery. Some owners have requested the Dealer divert the connection to the leisure battery. I guess enabling the media centre overrides the need to switch on the control panel above the hab door. I suspect Clarky will know how it all works.

Sorry, haven’t a clue on the mysteries of the CBE electrics.
But, I did have a similar problem with our satellite dish.
Ours is a Teleco Flat-Sat so a different system but in high wind it got blown upright when it was parked. The dish is held by two bolts which can work loose after being moved by strong winds. They are designed to give so that the whole lot won’t be ripped off the roof if left up in a gale. When it happened to ours I got up on the roof and tightened both bolts. Unfortunately the dish had been flipped right over a number of times and broken the LNB bracket so I lashed it down until we could get it repaired.
To my amazement when the bracket was replaced the whole thing worked perfectly and still is. I expected major internal damage.
In your case it might be just a case of tightening a couple of bolts to stop the wind from lifting it.

Richard.

Try completely setting it up to watch tv then shut it down as normal.... maybe it didn’t shut down properly last time..🤔

It only did it for the first time yesterday and we have had it for two years. Today and yesterday it did it after moving the MH, lovely weather, no wind. If I find the fuse we will run with it out and have it checked when we get home. In the meantime we (he) will get up there and check that everything is tight.
Thanks
