She sailed in at 7am and left at 3pm. Quite an awesome sight passing through the Corran narrows.

According to Wiki, the ship is the Artania which is used by a German travel Co. and in a past life was the Artemis for P & O and before that was named the Royal Princess by Diana Princess of Wales in 1984.

I imagine the visitors got a shock with the decaying Fort William. Visited last year and was shocked at the state of the place. We always loved to visit but not any more.
Not as much as when they get off the boat in Invergordon and then visit Alness.

The view of the buildings from the shore road is not great but you are looking at the back of the buildings

There was a cruiser up there may 2018 when we were there I imagine there will be a few visit each summer month?

Were they sold "visit the home of the Loch Ness Monster" ?

Look, it's up there by the canal.

We were in Fort William last week on our way to the Outer Hebrides and were shocked by the state of the town. It was so sad to see it. :(
We couldn't get in anywhere for a coffee with our dog and spoke to other dog owners who had the same problem, saying that we didn't try any of the pubs. On our travels in the past year we've noticed a huge acceptance of shops and cafes allowing dogs, sadly many parts of Scotland seem to be bucking the trend. My wife walked past shops that wouldn't allow dogs as the weather was wet and didn't want me to be standing outside getting soaked, I know for a fact she would have spent money in those premises had we been allowed to take the dog in.
It's two years since our last visit. I used to live near Glasgow and visited 3 or 4 times a year, just loved the place.

We seen this ship in Stornoway last week, quite a sight

I was staying in Norway a few year ago, in a chalet right on the banks of a fjord. Woke up in the morning, opened the curtains a bit bleary-eyed, to be greeted not by the site of the fjord and a cliff opposite - no, I was greeted by a wall of white and "SOUTHAMPTON" in huge letters.

The QE2 was turning around right outside our chalet. To say it was tight was a understatement - the back of the boat was about 10' from the water's edge! Clearly it was very deep right up to the edge. They had some small launches shuttling passengers up to the village at the end of the fjord.
