Could anyone suggest a guide which explains in plain English what is required if travelling to France at the moment please?Preferably not a lecture on why people shouldn’t be going but more of the easiest way to comply with current regulations.I’m confused to what tests and/or documentation is mandatory and the easiest way to comply.Thank you to anyone who can help and sorry to those who don’t agree with us to actually consider going😏

Lots of funsters have travelled to France recently and I am sure folk will be along shortly with advice! Personally not been yet but planning to visit asap! Enjoy!💖👍

The Gov.uk advice is quite clear.

Travellers who are fully vaccinated do not need an essential reason to travel to France and do not need to self-isolate on arrival. From 18 July, fully vaccinated travellers no longer need to present evidence of a negative test result before travel. Fully vaccinated travellers will need to present the following documents:

  • a completed ‘sworn statement’ (déclaration sur l’honneur) form self-certifying they are not suffering from symptoms associated with coronavirus and have not been in contact with confirmed cases in the preceding fortnight. This can be found on the French government’s website
  • proof of vaccination status

I’m currently sorting mine (via Chunnel) Their web site and info provided with booking confirmation is very clear and exactly as above. They will tell you to upload the Declaration” before (upto 72 hrs) travel date. Not sure what ferries are doing.

What John Barrett said above. (y)

Came through the tunnel on Wednesday and it was all very simple.
Asked by French passport control if we were jabbed, checked and stamped passports, stopped and asked if the gas was turned off and that was it.
Absolutely nothing to be put off about and the weather here beside the River Seine is wonderful.

We traveled via the tunnel to France last week. We had printed off " sworn statements" but were not asked for them anywhere - just our NHS QR codes. Make sure you complete all data requested by Euro Tunnel.

Go to the government website - it's pretty straightforward.

Does anyone know if its likely to be a problem if you booked your tunnel ticket through the Caravan Club? I ask because Eurotunnel can't access any bookings made through the CC so you can't log on and input your passport details etc. The CC can't help either - they simply say turn up.

Same here.Caravan club didn’t seem too concerned when I asked them.

We were on the tunnel on Wednesday, all you need is to print off the NHS Q code sheet (1 sheet per passenger). There's the usual advanced passenger information you do online and that's it. Good to go.

When you get there the French people are no different.. They love us 😊

It’s always been the same which is why we have never booked though the big clubs even if it might be a bit cheaper.
If you want to alter a booking, for instance to come home a day or two earlier, you have to do it via the club and not direct with the tunnel or ferry operator.
If it happens to be a weekend when the clubs office’s are closed you’re stuffed.
If something happens that means you need to get home quickly dealing direct will usually mean you can easily change your crossing day or time.

Richard.

Now by La Dordogne, via Eurotunnel. Their website is pretty clear for both outward and return journeys. Make sure you download the AntiCovid Pass Sanitaire app by French govt and transfer your UK vax cert details into it. Makes life a lot easier. We didn't print anything off and don't intend to.

Thanks Richard
You make good points. Over the years we have needed to amend return bookings but this is the first time we have used the CC and the first time we have used the tunnel with the camper - always crossed either Newhaven, Portsmouth, Poole or occasionally Plymouth
Roll on Wednesday - packing well underway.

I booked via C&CC and on request to Club got Channel Tunnel admin to send me a password and booking code that allows me to log in and upload details. Unfortunately that will not apply to alterations so ill book return directly

This is a good video which covers alot of things you need to do!

Its not just about dogs either!

Seen the video . It suggests that you have to have the test delivered before you trave outward. I thought that you could order online from abroad and the order confirmation gave you the no to enter on the Locator form. Am I correct in this. Quite a lot of people seem to have been thro the process

You are correct you can order whilst you are still abroad but you can also order them before you travel .

I ordered my day2 tests yesterday from Expert medical ready to go next Saturday. You get an email almost instantly with the booking number that you require for the Passenger locator form for your return journey so you could easily order them whilst away.
I've also ordered the lateral flow tests from C19 which have to be taken before leaving France, they arrived this morning. I'm also taking some of the NHS lateral flow tests with me to do a pre-test prior to taking the actual test.

Make sure you have understood & prepared for the Passenger Locator Form required for the INBOUND compliance! The .Gov website is a nightmare to navigate and there were many travellers caught out & missing home bound ferries last week!

The best App to have your vaccine proof on in France is Tous Anti Covid.
It is available via google play, and then you can scan your NHS QR code onto the My Wallet section in the App.
The restaurants and bars will then scan your uploaded QR code when you visit their establishments.

Bienvenue a France.🇫🇷

The app required is

tous anti covid verif

NOT the one without “verif” on the end

👌🏻👌🏻

I think you may have that the wrong way around? The 'verif' app is the one businesses use to scan your qr code to 'verify' it's correct.

I don’t think so, but am happy to be corrected. I set both my parents up last night with the app and it was only the verif that would read the uk barcode. Verif, to verify you are vaccinated.

Umm, the verif app should read the barcode that's what it's meant to do. Did you add the codes to the apps wallet?
I have the other one set up on my phone. You scan the QR codes from your NHS app or paper form and store them in you wallet ready to show when required.

I just spotted this on my app which seems to confirm that the 'verif' app is the reader for venues

I live in Brittany and cos dad in uk is very ill have made two 2week trips by ferry since July to uk in car and have just arrived back again in uk with my motorhome. Assuming fully vaccinated. Like above posts, the Tous Covis app is a given and the Wallet stores vaccination status and any tests from the q codes. This is required for access to most places. Regarding travel, in all though I found to enter both france and uk printing my vaccination certificate, attestation d'honeur, and handing them with passport (or test certificate and Passenger Locator on entering uk) saved waving my phone about mid air and I was thanked as the prints were appreciated by the check-in staff. The border controls just took passport ( and residency card in Fr). Both borders were helpful and welcoming. Enjoy your trip.

Easiest trip to France in 50 years. 24th Aug arrived 6pm for the 8pm ferry Plymouth to Roscoff, showed our Covid passports and self declaration form and were unpacking our overnight bags in our cabin at 6.30pm! Rolled straight off at Roscoff just a quick passport check Uk and Covid passport check. What a pleasure to be back in Brittany where we know they welcome motorhomes and the people are so friendly and warm. It’s very easy to get here just follow the UK govt rules on their website. Also download the French app tousanticovid and scan in your Covid passport. It is seamless and takes minutes and allows you into restaurants etc. But getting back? Ah that’s a different matter. While the French have made it really easy to get here the UK govt have made it very difficult and expensive to get back. Again see the UK govt website. We have booked a Covid test on the Monday before our Wednesday sailing sailing on the 15th (£50 each). Not allowed to do it earlier as it must be within 3 days of sailing and the clinics are closed on Sunday. When we have the result of that on the Tuesday we can book our 2 days UK test (god knows how much Boris’s chums will charge us for that) and fill in the locator form. Lots to go wrong! 🤞I’ll let you know how it goes
