We have a Pilote G600, to drain the fresh water tank, you have to take all the cushions off the bench, unscre the top access and pull out the small sink type plug from the bottom of the tank, what a faff. To make it simpler, I want to attach a tap to the drain pipe under the van using 28.5mm corrugated pipe. I can join the corrugated pipe to the outlet tubing from the tank like this

But is there an adaptor to connect the pipe to the tap, The tap is described as a 28mm but this is internal measurement. I cant find an adaptor, anyone know of something that would do the job.

Remember this tube will be live, any leaks and your fresh water will drip away, the water in the tube will be a dead leg and will need to be drained quite often.
Me I'd leave as designed, mine is the same and after a trip I just pull the plug and leave the tank dry until the next.

I take your point re the leaks, I don't think the fact there would be "dead" water in the pipe from the tank to the tap would be a problem as it would be no different to any other system that has an external tap/

Why not use the same type of tubing as exists? That way connectors and taps to fit will be available.

You might want to think about using food grade pipes and fittings. I am not obsessed with this, I use an ordinary hose to fill up because the water contact is short term. Some say even this should be avoided. However your pipe would be in permanent contact with your drinking water and might taint it. Just a thought, I have no great expertise or experience on this subject.

Dethleffs have a similar set up in build. Removing drain plug in tank permanently allows tank to be drained between use from external valve.

How often are you planning to drain the tank? Seems like an awful lot of work fo something we tend to only do at the beginning of a trip prior to flushing and refilling. And also, of course, to prevent freezing when we put it back into storage.

I had a similar arrangement on my Knaus but it had an open pipe attached which also acted as an overflow and a vent.
